This month our parish will be supporting the Mission to Seafarers which provides help and support to the 1.5 million crewmen and women who face danger every day to keep our global economy afloat. Men and women at sea can be affected by any number of problems: money worries, mental health issues and loneliness, as well as piracy, shipwreck and abandonment. The charity provides practical, emotional and spiritual support. We all rely on these workers for the food and goods which we take for granted in our shops. To raise funds we will have collecting buckets in St John’s and St Hugh’s Churches, and a Coffee Morning at St James’ Church on Saturday 20th July from 10am to 11.30am. Please try to support the parish’s fund raising efforts for Mission to Seafarers in whatever way you can.
