Once again we will be running this valuable scheme which recognises that during the school summer holidays, many parents/carers struggle to feed children who are eligible for free school meals in term time. Last summer we supplied 180 lunches to local children solely from donations received by our church congregations and other local organisations. There will be open collection sessions between 9.30am and 11.30am on Mondays at St James’ Church and on Wednesdays at The St Hugh’s Centre from 29th July until 28th August (no session 26th August for Bank Holiday). Parents/carers can call in for a free lunch supplies pack which will contain about 3 days’ worth of provisions. Please spread the word to anyone who you think would benefit from this scheme. Again we are depending on donations of food items and, if you are able to help with this, please pick up a leaflet from church with a list of suggested donations. Donations can be left in the collections boxes in the following locations: St John’s Church Hall (outside the hall main door), St James’ Church (collection box in the entranceway), St Hugh’s Church (please add to the food bank box in the entrance).
